My fiancé and I go to Sushi Star all the time, and it's one of our favourites. We've never found the fish to be off, quite the opposite in fact. Every time we've been the fish has been fresh and delicious. They've passed all their inspections since 2009, so I guess they learned their lesson. The service is always great, one time we were there and the waitress was literally due to give birth in a week and she was still faster and friendlier than the service at most restaurants in the area. I ordered the AYCE and began eating some maki pretty happily, then I got to the salmon sashimi which tasted so "off" I spat it into my napkin. I wasn't about to take a risk eating more (not to mention how grossed out I was) so I asked for my cheque, at which point the waitress got upset and threatened to charge me extra for the "wasted" food that I hadn't eaten. Frankly at a decent restaurant I don't think I would have been expected to pay at all for bad fish! When I got home I checked Dinesafe and I wasn't shocked to see that the place had been ordered closed back in January for grossly unsanitary conditions.
